Tip of the Spear

2017 - Building the Jarrett Bay 90

Project highlights:

Video Production | Creative Direction | Editing | Photography | Media Managment

Lift Films was contracted to document the final year of building Jarrett Bay hull 62—Jaruco. The 90’ custom sportfishing boat was groundbreaking in many ways and Jarrett Bay wanted to tell the story of the build. The largest challenge with this project was that Lift Films would never get a chance to film or photograph the completed boat. Work was still being done on the boat right up until the moment it pushed off from the dock for the final time in order to make the long trip to Costa Rica. We edited the Tip of the Spear video using interviews of the Jarrett Bay team as well as a mixture of b-roll footage from the final year of the build and aerial footage from independant contractors in Costa Rica. Given the challenges of editing this story together without footage of the completed boat, we are proud of the final video.
